Defined is an immersive art experience featuring interactive art installations, projections, and live music performances — all centered on the power of written words and identity. Through projection, sound, spoken word, and installation, the exhibition invites audiences into a deeply personal reflection on language and selfhood. The gallery space features quotes submitted by USC students, animated through projection and accompanied by interview audio that shares the emotional weight behind each piece. Visitors move through a dynamic environment of light, voice, and meaning, and are encouraged to interact, contribute, and carry a piece of the experience with them—both physically and emotionally.
Defined
Exhibition Design
overview
I was responsible for the projection design for Defined, translating curated quotes into a spatial visual experience. I developed animated visuals that complemented the tone of each quote and integrated them with the physical layout of the space, allowing the projections to envelop the audience. This involved syncing visual transitions with audio interviews, adjusting placement for optimal visibility, and ensuring the immersive environment remained emotionally resonant and technically fluid throughout the exhibition.
