    overview

Hold On & Let Go is a multidisciplinary film project rooted in a poetic meditation on impermanence, memory, and life. It began with a text that repeats like a mantra—inviting the audience to hold on to the beautiful and the painful, then gently let them go. This concept unfolds in two films: a narrative short and an experimental projection piece. The narrative film explores the metaphor of bruises—the visible and invisible marks left by love, conflict, and time—through a nonlinear story of a young boy confronting past wounds. The experimental film interprets the poem through AI-generated imagery and projection mapping, visualizing cycles of construction and deconstruction as metaphors for memory, decay, and transformation. Together, the two works explore what it means to carry, and to release, the imprints of lived experience.

Primarily responsible for the experimental film component of Hold On & Let Go, I began by generating AI images inspired by each line of the original poem, translating abstract emotions into visual form. These images became the foundation for the experimental film, which was combined with a projection mapping project that explored the construction and deconstruction of objects, time, and life. Through layered animation and spatial experimentation, I aimed to mirror the poem's cyclical rhythm—building up meaning only to dissolve it, just as we do with memories, relationships, and the self.
